Excuse me for not posting an entry about episode 16, since it was just a recap episode. Really, who reviews recap episodes anyway. In episode 17, though, the timeskip of 7 years has happened, and the young ones have all grown up (Simon, Nia, Rossiu, Darry, Gimmy). Unfortunately, we’re forced to warm up to everyone’s new roles and looks at our own pace, as the episode 17 immediately thrusts us into a gloomy situation.

From the new OP, OMG EVIL NIA

The Witches’ Maw arc is picking up. In this episode, Galatea shows her awesome powers, and Riful does a stock shounen explanation of things. Oh, and some angry Clare too.

Lucky Star 15

Surprise, surprise. I actually liked the show this time. Anime references are still aplenty but are a lot more subtle. Two new characters are introduced, but they only stick for one scene. Well, back to school, and more Minami for everyone.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei 2

2nd episode out by a.f.k. While I like a.f.k.’s subbing a lot, my only misgiving with them is that they don’t make .mkv releases. As I’m a bit (no, make that a lot) OC like Chiri-chan in this show, I detest seeing subs in my sucky, rush-job screencaps. Anyways, the show ups the ante to the next level, showering us with a lot of references ala Lucky Star.

Honey & Clover, in my SZS?!

Lucky Star 13-14

July 17, 2007 by schneider

Unsurprisingly, there is very little to talk about pertaining to Lucky Star episodes. After you’ve stopped laughing from the gags, that’s it. There’s little sense in dwelling on them unless they contain some obscure reference, and these types aren’t that many anyways. To save space I’ve decided to review episodes 13-14 in one short entry.

Behold your new goddess, Minami.

Devil May Cry 3

This episode’s pretty sappy, and may alienate action fans. Dante steps between a demon and his prey, an entire city. However, he must deal first with the city’s mayor and the job that he is given.

Dante’s such a slacker, but he never seems to lose his touch. I envy him.

In this episode: reverse-trap Clare, Dauf (I refuse to call him Duff, which sounds horribly like a certain American celebrity’s name), and Riful. Raki only appears a bit, if you’re enjoying his absence (I am, since less Raki = more badass moments).

“Maybe I should lengthen my vocal cords even more.”

Nanoha StrikerS: Looking back, 12 episodes after

July 11, 2007 by schneider

This isn’t an episode review, but rather a general review of the series up to episode 12 (which I had just finished digesting a while ago). Thank goodness, the subs are catching up after a long while.

From episode 12, lol

The conclusion of the humans’ conflict with the Helix King. Let’s just say that manly tears were shed during this episode. It easily surpasses the epicness of episode 8.
